Heynen Engineers provides quality control and documents construction projects and remedial systems implemented upon Heynen Engineers design or recommendations. The intent is to verify compliance with the intent of the design or recommendations and make necessary changes upon any variations from anticipated field conditions.
Heynen Engineers provides field testing and observations for the site work phase of construction projects. Fill material quality and maximum moisture-density values are tested in Heynen Engineers soils laboratory and visually observed in the field for consistency and homogeneity. Fill placement and compaction is visually observed and testing performed with licensed nuclear moisture-density gauge equipment used by trained and certified operators. Heynen Engineers provides testing of bituminous concrete pavements, and cement concrete pavements, structures and slabs.
Construction of deep foundations require understanding of the design intent of the foundation system, the field conditions anticipated, and the performance criteria of the system. Heynen Engineers provides complete inspection services for drilled piers, or caissons, including evaluating the bearing surface, sidewalls, reinforcement, plumbness and location. Driven pile foundation systems are evaluated during installation to verify bearing depth, driving resistance, plumbness, location, and pile integrity. Heynen Engineers also designs and documents load tests in accordance with ASTM D1157 on existing piles and new piles, as required under the Building Code, or as specified or recommended.
