Environmental Remediation
Heynen Engineers performs all necessary monitoring, operations and maintenance for its remedial systems, and has successfully designed, implemented and effectively remediated soil and groundwater using pump and treat, dual-phase extraction, soil vapor extraction, groundwater sparging, bioremediation, product recovery and oxidation technologies.
Heynen Engineers provides Remedial Response System Design for Cleanup of Hazardous Waste Solids, Semi-solids, Aqueous and Vapor constituents.
Heynen Engineers also provides the design, installation and operation of groundwater extraction systems, petroleum product recovery systems and soil vapor vacuum extraction systems. Heynen Engineers performs soil vapor surveys, EPA SPCC Spill Plans, hydrogeologic analyses and in-situ and laboratory analyses of hydrogeologic parameters.
Implementation of a remedial design is observed and documented by a Heynen Engineers field engineer or technician involved in the design process. The field staff is knowledgeable of anticipated field conditions, remediation goals, screening protocol, confirmatory sampling protocol, Heynen Engineers site Health and Safety Plan (HASP), OSHA safety requirements, State regulations, and NFPA30. All field staff are 40-hour HAZWOPER trained and certified, and equipped with the appropriate personnel protective equipment for the site. A Safety Officer is assigned and always present during remedial work, as is the appropriate support staff for decontamination, atmospheric monitoring, physical assistance and documentation, as outlined in the site HASP.
Heynen Engineers has prepared various environmental permits and has worked with local and state agencies concerning documentation of clean up activity applications.
Heynen Engineers has written and been approved, by a Geologist, Exploratory and Remedial Phase Health and Safety Plans for previous projects.
