Underwater Diving and Inspections
Underwater Engineers was established in 1984 for the purpose of providing professional underwater inspection and engineering services to commercial and industrial facilities and to public agencies charged with the maintenance and repair of bridges, dams, reservoirs, water tanks and related hydraulic structures. Currently, we maintain offices in North Haven, Connecticut and Merritt Island, Florida.
Underwater Engineers has performed numerous underwater engineering, observation and design services, including minor construction. These services have included the following:
- Observation and repair of trash racks, inlet structures and outlet structures;
- Underwater survey and test work;
- Underwater video and still photography;
- Bridge, pier and dam inspection;
- Inspection of hydropower facilities and appurtenant structures;
- Preparation of design reports, plans and specifications for new hydraulic structures and rehabilitation of existing structures;
- Underwater pre- and post-construction survey;
- Environmental assessments;
- Minor construction, repairs and replacement of underwater appurtenances.
These services are performed by or under the supervision of registered professional engineers who are also divers. Our experience also includes underwater construction and repairs.
Underwater Engineers has established an exemplary safety record in both inspection and construction work. We have never sustained a diving accident as a consequence of our meticulous planning, preparation and personnel training.
